What is the scientific diet definition?
In relation to nutrition, diet refers to the amount and kind of any living organism consumes. In science or biology perspective, diet is not actually restraining yourself from eating. It is how much and what you eat. If we can go back to our lesson in grade school, you can be herbivore, carnivore or omnivore. A person’s choice of the diet depends on his culture and taste.
There are a number of factors affecting one’s diet. One of which is culture and religion. There may be food taboos such as eating meat or animal’s blood. Your geographical location can also affect your diet. For example, people in Alaska are mostly carnivorous because their land lacks vegetation. Some are “forced” to a specific diet because of a medical condition. Best examples are lactose intolerants who cannot process dairy products.
Regardless of a person’s diet type, what you eat can definitely make your life longer or shorter.
